The Goddess’s Illusion Now Available!
Cue the spiced cider and cinnaspice burnt-custard (Calatini’s creme brulee)! 🙂 Writing Kit and Mel’s story was so much fun—I loved Kit’s journey of redemption and self-discovery, Mel’s rationalizations about his feelings for her before he admits he loves her, and how they grow together into partners who always support each other. Plus, their explorations of temple life and the community charities priests run was fascinating. And then there were the many dessert recipes—yum! I hope you love their story as much as I do.

The Goddess’s Illusion Excerpt:
Mel was about to enter the priest quarters to spend the hour before Longnight Vespers in his chambers when Kit’s sultry voice called, “Mel, at last. I thought you’d never return.”
He frowned. What was Kit doing here? Shouldn’t she be at Blaine House or Golddell House with Edouard and Elise? Sighing, he turned toward Kit then froze. An old woman wrapped in a black cloak and a servant’s dress stood there. He peered closer. Although the old woman appeared so ancient that a strong breeze would topple her, she possessed Kit’s smoky eyes.
He strode toward her. “Kit, is that you? What happened?”
The elderly-looking Kit stared up at him, her gaze shimmering with tears. She swallowed then began to reply, but before she said a word, she began to sob.
His chest squeezing, Mel gathered Kit into his arms. Even as a girl, she’d rarely revealed such vulnerabilities to anyone. A defense against her despicable father, no doubt. And that shell had become a glittering, unbreakable diamond since she’d become the fashionable Countess of Blaine. He kissed Kit’s now white yet still silky hair, inhaling her delectable cinnaspice scent. “Tell me what happened.”
