A Lunar Cleansing Spell
To Lady Juliet, Royal Witch of Calatini

Dear Lady Juliet,
I am preparing to perform a cleansing spell to help me forget my former betrothed. (A pox on that cheating whore!) My mentors, two twin witches, cannot agree on when I should perform my spell—one says it would be most powerful if performed under a full moon, while the other says I should wait until a lunar eclipse. What is your opinion?
Thanks for your help,

Dear Mr. Thyme,
Your cleansing spell could be performed at either time. Although sunlight has become a common source of magical power, moonlight is too weak for that, and the mere absence of light cannot power spells.
However, spells may be performed at specific times to help witches focus their minds toward a specific purpose. (For instance, cooling spells are often crafted in winter then saved to use in summer.) So if either the full moon or the lunar eclipse feels like change to you, choose that time.
Best of luck,
Lady Juliet, Royal Witch of Calatini
