Lymon Balm Scent
The recipe passed down to Selena from her mother the summer before she died. This is the scent Selena always wears.
- Harvest lymon balm leaves. (Flower stalks may be included.) Best time to harvest is just before blossoms develop in late spring or early summer.
- Grind fresh leaves in a mortar and pestle. Cover (barely) with water.
- Cover and simmer over minimum heat for 30 minutes.
- Remove from heat and cool until room temperature.
- Strain water using a pocketcloth. Wring out well.
- Add 1 TBS distilled spirits for every 1 cup lymon balm water.
- Store in a dark, glass vial and allow to rest for at least two weeks. Shake vial at least once a day.
